Unscramble is a daily anagram. One word’s letters arrive jumbled across a row of tiles and you put them back in order, with six tries to land it. Every answer is the only common word its letters can spell, so there is exactly one right answer — and a new one every day in 68 languages.
How Unscramble works
One word a day, dealt to you in pieces.
Every tile holds one letter of the day’s word, and the row they arrive in is guaranteed not to spell anything — not the answer, and not some other word that would send you somewhere defensible but wrong. Tap a tile to drop it into the next empty slot, tap a slot to send its letter back, or type and let the keyboard claim the tiles for you. Shuffling the leftovers is free and always will be.
What the board tells you
- SolvedThat is the day’s word. The answer and its definition are revealed.
- A word — not today’sYou spelled a real word using exactly these letters, but not the one the puzzle is built on. It still costs a try.
- Not a wordThe letters were right, the arrangement isn’t a word. If you use letters that are not on the board at all, the board says that instead.
Why there is only one answer MELON and LEMON share a letter set, and a puzzle scored on tries cannot have two right answers. So the ambiguity is settled before you ever see the board: a word only enters the pool if it is the only common word its letters can spell. The whole ambiguous class is dropped rather than arbitrated.

Consilies e strategie
Most long words end in a small set of clusters — -ing, -ed, -tion, -ly, -ness. Park those letters at the end of the row and the remaining problem is two or three tiles shorter, which is usually the whole difficulty.
Letters like Q, X and J have almost no legal neighbours, and pairs like TH, CH, ST and PR travel together. Lock the cluster, then arrange the vowels around it rather than trying to order eight loose tiles at once.
A seven-letter word with two vowels has a very different skeleton from one with four. Counting first tells you roughly where the syllable breaks fall before you move a single tile.
The shuffle button is free and unlimited. Anagram blindness is real — once your eye has fixed on a wrong grouping it stops seeing alternatives, and a re-deal resets it faster than concentration does.
A word that uses the right letters but is not the answer still costs a try, so do not fire one off casually. It does tell you something, though: it confirms you have read the letter set correctly and the problem is only the arrangement.
