Kai spēlēt Trace

Trace is a daily path puzzle on a walled grid. Draw one unbroken line that enters every single cell exactly once, moving only up, down, left and right, never diagonally and never through a wall. Scattered across the board are numbered waypoints, and the line has to start on 1 and reach each number in ascending order, finishing on the highest. Every board is run through a solver before it ships, so exactly one route satisfies all three rules and you never have to guess. Drag with a finger or a mouse to draw; drag back along the line to rub it out. There is no check button and no fail state - the puzzle simply locks when the grid is full and legal. Trace uses no words at all, so the same board is served to every player in the world and only the interface translates.

How Trace works

Trace is a coverage-path puzzle: one unbroken line that enters every cell of a small walled grid exactly once. Mathematicians call the shape a Hamiltonian path; on the board it just looks like a route that misses nothing and never doubles back.

Three rules run the whole game. Cover: every cell is entered exactly once. Move: steps go up, down, left or right only, never diagonally and never across a wall. Order: the line starts on the cell numbered 1 and reaches each numbered waypoint in ascending order, finishing on the highest.

Those three rules together pin down exactly one answer. Every board served here is run through a solver first, and only boards with a single solution are published - so if you are stuck there is always a cell whose neighbours force the route, and you never need to guess and backtrack blindly.

Input is a drag: press the 1 and pull the line through neighbouring cells. Dragging back along the line rubs it out, so a wrong branch costs seconds rather than a restart. On a keyboard the arrow keys move a focus cursor, Enter extends the line, and Backspace removes the last cell - the whole puzzle is playable without a pointer.

The daily board is the same for every player in the world - Trace is language-agnostic, so only the interface translates. Your solve time and move count go to the global leaderboard, and Trace Unlimited generates fresh grids on demand for practice without touching your streak.

Padūmi i strategeja

1
Dead ends decide the route

Any cell with only one free neighbour left can never be passed through - only entered and left the same way, which is illegal. Spot them early and the route around them is forced.

2
Count the ways out of a region

If a block of cells connects to the rest of the board through a single gap, the line has to enter and leave through that gap. That is impossible unless a numbered waypoint sits inside, so those shapes rule whole branches out.

3
Walls are clues, not obstacles

Every wall removes a choice, and a board is only published once the walls remove enough choices to leave one route. Treat a dense corner as the easiest part of the puzzle rather than the hardest.

4
Draw the ends inwards

The first and last cells of the route are fixed by the numbers, and their neighbours are usually forced too. Building from both ends meets in the middle faster than drawing forward and hoping.

5
Rub out early, not late

Dragging back along the line is free. The moment a region looks stranded, back up to the last branch instead of finishing the drawing to see whether it works.

What is Trace?
Trace is a daily path puzzle on a small walled grid. You draw one unbroken line that enters every cell exactly once, moving only up, down, left and right - never diagonally, and never across a wall. Numbered waypoints are scattered over the board, and the line must start on 1 and reach each number in ascending order, ending on the highest. Every board has exactly one solution and needs no guessing.
How do I draw the line?
Press the cell numbered 1 and drag. The line follows your pointer or finger from cell to neighbouring cell. To rub out a mistake, drag backwards along the line you already drew. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move a focus cursor, Enter extends the line onto the focused cell, and Backspace removes the last cell.
What do the thick borders mean?
They are walls. A wall sits on the border shared by two neighbouring cells and the line can never cross it, so the two cells must be reached by different parts of the route. Walls are what make a board have exactly one answer instead of many.
Do I have to fill every cell?
Yes. The puzzle is only solved when the line has entered every single cell of the grid exactly once and finished on the highest-numbered waypoint. A route that meets all the numbers but skips a cell is not a solution.
Do I ever have to guess?
No. Every Trace board here is checked by a solver before it is published, and only boards with exactly one solution ship. There is always a next move that one rule alone forces - usually a cell with only one free neighbour left.
Is Trace the same in every language?
Yes. Trace uses no words, so every player worldwide gets the same daily grid regardless of the language the site is set to. Only the interface around the board is translated. We are not affiliated with LinkedIn or with any other puzzle publisher.
