How to Play Semantic Explorer Unlimited
Semantic Wordle Unlimited lets you play as many meaning-based rounds as you want. Each round picks a fresh target word from the English vocabulary — you still get 30 guesses, the compass hints, the meaning map, and the oracle. No daily wait, no account. If you've solved today's daily and want another, or want to practice tuning in to the compass, this is the mode.
How Semantic Wordle works
Every word in the 50,000-word dictionary is converted into a vector — a list of 1,536 numbers that captures what the word means, based on how it's used across billions of sentences. Words that appear in similar contexts end up with similar vectors. Ocean sits close to sea; candle sits close to wick and flame.
When you guess a word, Semantic Wordle computes the distance between your guess's vector and the target's. It then ranks your guess against every other word in the dictionary — rank #1 means you nailed it; rank #50,000 means you're as far as you can be.
The compass hints come from comparing your guess to the target along twelve pre-defined axes — temperature, age, weight, emotion, danger, aliveness, and others. The two axes with the largest gap become your hints. This is the key addition over Contexto and Semantle, which only give you a number.
Tips & Strategy
Your first guess calibrates the compass. Use a generic concrete noun — 'house', 'animal', 'tool', 'place' — so the hints give you a direction from a neutral anchor.
'Think more burning' means the target is hotter or more fiery than your guess. 'Think more ancient' means older. Take the hints at face value — they're computed along real semantic axes, not metaphors.
When your rank suddenly drops from 5,000 to 100, you've entered the right neighborhood. Pivot to related words in that cluster rather than jumping categories.
When two of your dots cluster tightly on the map, you've found a theme the target is near. Explore synonyms and related words from that cluster.
One oracle hint per game, unlocked after guess 5. Don't burn it early — wait until the compass stalls or you're down to your last 2-3 guesses.
