Word Search is the classic word puzzle, served fresh every day. A 10x10 grid of letters hides ten words on one theme - farm animals, the kitchen, the beach. The words are listed above the grid; each lies on a straight line, across, down, diagonally or backwards. Drag from a word's first letter to its last, or tap the two ends, and it is circled and crossed off. Themes and words are written natively for each language, not translated.
Each day's Word Search is a 10x10 grid of letters and a list of ten words on one theme. Every word on the list is hidden in the grid on one straight line: across, down, diagonally, and sometimes backwards or upwards. Words can cross and share a letter.
To find a word, press its first letter and drag to its last - the selection snaps to the nearest of the eight directions. You can also tap the first letter and then the last. A correct word stays circled on the board in its own colour and is crossed off the list in the same colour.
The themes and words are written for each language rather than translated, and every word is checked against that language's dictionary before it can appear. The grid is filled with the letters your language actually uses, so a Spanish board has its Ñ and a Polish board its Ł.
A ten-letter word spans the whole grid, so it can only sit in a few places. Find it first and the rest of the board gets smaller.
Letters like Q, Z, X or J appear only a few times in a grid. A word that contains one is quickest to pin down.
A pair like EE or LL stands out when you sweep a row. If a word on the list has one, scan for the pair rather than the first letter.
When a word will not turn up, read the rows right to left and the columns bottom to top - the backward lines are the ones the eye skips.
Every word belongs to the day's theme, so a half-seen line of letters that fits the theme is worth a closer look.
